Bob reported that he would be scheduling GNT qualifying games from September
through February and NAP qualifying games from June through August. He will try to
schedule a novice game sometime in March. A GNT swiss team game will be held on
the last Sunday in February. Bob also explained that the unit can have twenty-four unit
championship games a year. The unit can also schedule ACBL charity games and unit
charity games. He is working to create a schedule of games that will be posted.
TREASURER’S REPORT—Ben Franz
The financial statements for the month of January were previously e-mailed to the
board. Due to the conversion to an all credit card system, the January statements do
not include any income from the regional tournament. We are currently running a deficit
of $2,606.12. This deficit is the result of advance payment of many regional expenses.
Income of $19,521.46 and expenses of $10,444.35 for the regional are expected for this
month. Ben has sent out 1099 tax forms and will complete the unit tax return as soon
as online forms are available.
HOSPITALITY REPORT—Sue Kelly
No report.
MEMBERSHIP – Marc Stone
A membership report was previously e-mailed to the board. Marc reported no new
members, four reinstated members, one transfer in, and two transfers out. We currently
have 411 active members. Marc will contact Craig Tyner regarding updating the
member board at the back of the club.
I/T WEBSITE—David Barbour
Dave reported the unit website now includes the current year Mini-McKenney race
results and can be updated monthly. Last year’s results are also posted.
EQUIPMENT – Barb Kaspar
Barb reported that we had everything needed for the regional.
EDUCATIONAL CHAIR – Barry Nagel
Various dates were discussed for the Fall Seminar and it was decided that the weekend
of September 9-10 would work best. Barry will make inquiries as to who is available for
that weekend.
REGIONAL TOURNAMENT – Ben Franz
A financial report for the regional was previously sent to the board. The regional made
a profit of $4,200. We are starting planning the next two year’s regional tournaments.
We have sanctions for 2024 and 2025. Ben is meeting with the Marriott this week to go
over basic terms (room rates, parking, AV charges, etc.). He wants to reinstate a force
majeure clause and redefine the penalty and liquated damages section.
SECTIONAL TOURNAMENTS – Ranjit Bose
Ranjit reported that all sectional dates for 2023 are approved, as well as our sanction for
our 2024 I/N sectional. Dates for 2024 open sectionals are pending. Ranjit is looking at
how to cut costs and how to improve communications.

on the difference between the unit board and the DCBC board.
