Minutes of the Board of Directors

July 14, 2024
The meeting was called to order at 12:02 pm by Donna. Attendees were Donna Romm, Sue Kelly, Bob Zipp, Ellen Lyons, Mary Strong, Ben Franz, Marc Stone, Barb Kaspar, Dave Baglee, and Jane Elson.
Secretary’s Report
Minutes of our June meeting, which had been e-mailed to all, were approved by a vote.
Treasurer’s Report
Ben had e-mailed his financial report for July to each board member. The report was accepted by a unanimous vote.
In order to cover janitorial costs for Sunday games, it was suggested that the cost be increased to $55 per day. This item was approved by a vote.
Education
Ellen suggested having another 2 over 1 class. Jerry Kiernan had just had a class on the west side so, for the present, we won’t hold one; but we will consider it in the future. Bill Kass will be asked to teach it.
Membership
Marc wants some of the top players to act as designated “Question and Answer people.”
Bob says it is time to get photos of the new people into our data base. We also need to get updated copies of the directory.
Hospitality/IT
Sue has asked for help picking up after the Non-Life-Master game on Sunday, August 11. Barb volunteered. Sue will send e-mail regarding the NLM game.
Game Manager’s Report
Taos has asked us to loan them our tables to use for their regional game. We will do so at no charge. Bob states that they should be informed it’s important to store the tables top against top in order to eliminate scarring.
New Business
Ben is planning to hold a meeting next Friday morning to plan work crews for the Regional.
Do we want another Friendship game or Pro Am game? Most people thought we should have another Friendship game. Sunday, October 13 was suggested. Bob will work on the planning for this game.
August Board Meeting will be held on August 4, since Donna will be absent for the period of August 6 through 20. Meeting adjourned at 12:59 p.m.
